Small Headache

If someone would have asked me two years ago whether I was injury prone or not, I would without hesitation say "Heck no" but I think my body has finally caught up with me. These last two years have just been a laundry list of what is hurt or at best just aching.  Let me tell you about my most recent one.

So while playing basketball this past Friday, I was ahead of the defense and awaiting a pass from the guy with the ball. Well the guy threw the pass too high so I had to jump as high as possible and grab the ball and throw it back in play. So I did. But the momentum of the ball apparently forced my body to tilt and I ultimately ended up landing on my back and then slamming my head into the hard wood floor. The crazy part: I don't remember any of this past the jumping in the air part.  Also, supposedly I got up and finished the game. Could have fooled me.  There literally is about a ten minute span of my life where I have pretty much no recollection of anything happening. Crazy eh?

So basically what I am saying is that I can add concussion to my list of torn knee ligaments, back spasms, tendinitis in the elbow, sprains, and whatever else each day decides to throw at me. Stupid body

Strange

So I had two tests today. Nothing strange about that. My teachers seem to like to plot against me and put everything possible on the same day. Ah well. It happens. But there was something quite strange that happened to me this morning. I went to the Sanderson Center (our big workout facility) to get some cardio in this morning and try to do some studying while running. That typically works out pretty well for me. But not today. While on the elliptical machine I had my papers sitting in front of me when I glanced at the television in front of me. When I looked back down after about 5 seconds I realized my papers had fallen. Not only did they fall though, they fell straight into the machine and before I realized all this I had managed to run over my papers and tear them into about 10 pieces. Such a great way to start my morning. Made studying pretty difficult. Bump you elliptical machines. Bump you

Personal Invitation

So yesterday on my way back to school, some nice police man decided to stop me and offer me a personal invitation to join him at the Rankin County Courthouse on the day of Nov. 18,2008 for which I can only assume will be a joyous party. I told him that I really did not feel as if I was worthy of this honored but he insisted and thus I was forced to accept.

If you didn't catch any of that, I got a speeding ticket. But this one hurt for a couple of reasons. First off, I admit I was speeding, but I adamantly deny the fact that I was doing the speed he "got" me at. There was a car passing me at the exact moment he supposedly shot me and I think he just thought we were going the same speed because it could be viewed that way. So he proceeded to pull us both over and give us matching invitations. The second reason this one hurt is that it completely blows my theory that if listening to Christian music, speeding tickets are not given. I thought I had good proof (personal experience) that this theory is valid. So i guess the only reason that this theory did not prove true once again is this: Jars of Clay (the group I was listening to while being pulled over) is not actually Christian. They're faking. Thats the only possible reason

1st Blog

So I'm kind of new to this whole blogging thing. I mean I used to have a xanga, which was cool at the time only to find out very quickly it was actually pretty stupid. For most people it just served as a way to vent around people they didn't like or situations that could easily change but instead sit behind a computer and complain. I tried to make mine better than that but eventually I just stopped caring. And it wasn't a moment too soon. So here's to new adventures in the blogging world. My only hope is that I can somehow find a way to make this interesting enough for people to read. This one's for the people. And for me. Or whoever I feel like posting for.
